Track and Field (Athletics)

Athletic season is from January to May

The 2008 season has just been completed. Congratulations to all those athletes that competed this season. Results will be posted once that information becomes available. Practices for the 2009 season will be announced when it gets closer.

Track & Field

The kids will be able to participate in 1 running event and 1 field event.  We will also consider running relays this year. The running events can be 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, and even 1500 meters.  The field events include ball toss, softball toss, and long jump.  There are also motorized wheelchair races!  We’ll determine the appropriate events for your athlete based on how they perform during practices.

Qualifications

  1. Fun attitude and smiles are required.

  2. Age 8 and above and still in school district.

  3. Show up to play for 8 practices before competition deadline.

  4. Age 12 and above are eligible for the State competition.

Track & Field can be made up of a number of different events. The actual events scheduled at competition will be determined by a minimum number of entries in each event. The available events are as follows:
50-meter dash 10-meter assisted walk
100-meter dash 25-meter assisted walk
200-meter dash 50-meter assisted walk
400-meter dash 25-meter walk
800-meter run 50-meter walk
1500-meter run 100-meter race walk
3000-meter run 400-meter race walk
10-meter wheelchair race 4 x 100-meter relay
25-meter wheelchair race 4 x 400-meter relay
